Gathering Water. In this picture I am carrying water from the well up to the house. This is a daily chore as you can’t use the running water from the pipes for cooking or drinking. Every day, and sometime multiple times per day, I would walk down the hill to the well and gather water for drinking and cooking. This photo was taken sometime in November of 2016. Planting trees. In this picture I am helping with the planting of lemon trees. We had a visitor from Sikkim who brought us a few lemon tree saplings. This photo was taken in August of 2016. Meeting of minds in Delhi. In this photo I am meeting with a handful of folks from different organizations to discuss design for the program offerings at the Foundation for Contemplation of Nature (FCN). Ajay Rastogi (second from left in back row) is the founder of FCN. Pradeep Kashyap (first from left back row) is the founder of MART, a consulting firm in emerging markets. Mr. Kashyap hosted our group at their office in New Delhi. We made great progress in building the collaborative efforts around programs and workshops to be offered at FCN in the future. October 2016. Processing wheat. In this photo I am helping out with separating the wheat grain from the stock of the plant. Traditionally this is done with your feet – you work the stock with your feet and then separate out the grain. This was taken in September of 2016.
